Braces vs. Aligners
What suits me?
One of the most common questions we hear at Orthoboutique is: “Should I get braces or aligners?” The honest answer: it depends entirely on your individual situation. Here we explain the differences—transparently and without any sales pressure.

Fixed braces
Fixed braces are still the most precise instrument in orthodontics. They work around the clock and require no cooperation when wearing them. They are often the more effective choice, especially for complex malocclusions, bite corrections, or when teeth need to be moved in several directions. We offer both metal and tooth-colored ceramic brackets – the inconspicuous option for anyone who cares about aesthetics.

Aligners (e.g., Invisalign or Angelaligner)
Aligners are virtually invisible, removable, and ideal for mild to moderate misalignments. They are worn for at least 20–22 hours a day and changed every 1–2 weeks. The biggest advantage: no restrictions on eating, easier oral hygiene. However, consistent cooperation on your part is essential for a good result. If you forget to wear the aligners too often, the treatment will be unnecessarily prolonged.

Lingual appliances
If you don't want to see braces or aligners on the outside, there is a third option: lingual brackets, which are attached to the inside of the teeth. Completely hidden, completely effective. It takes a few weeks to get used to the changed position of your tongue – after that, you will hardly notice anything.

Our recommendation
During your initial consultation at Orthoboutique, we will not discuss which solution is the most expensive, but rather which one makes the most sense for your misalignment, your everyday life, and your goals. Sometimes it is a combination of both.
