How do braces work?
Braces exert gentle, continuous pressure on the teeth, gradually moving them into the desired position over an extended period. This process utilizes the jawbone's natural adaptability: where pressure is applied, bone is broken down, while on the opposite side, it regenerates. This permanently stabilizes the new tooth position.
Our treatment options
Traditional metal braces are considered particularly reliable and are also ideally suited for more complex misalignments. Small brackets are firmly attached to the teeth and connected to each other by a thin wire – precise, proven and effective.
For those who prefer a more discreet option, ceramic braces are an excellent choice. They work on the same principle but feature tooth-colored brackets that blend harmoniously into the natural appearance.
Treatment duration
The duration of treatment depends on the type and extent of the malocclusion. In many cases, a noticeable result is visible after 12 to 24 months. For minor corrections, the treatment time may be shorter, while more complex cases will take longer. After the active treatment phase, we recommend a retainer to ensure the long-term preservation of the beautiful result.
The cost of orthodontic treatment varies depending on the scope of treatment and the chosen method. For children and teenagers up to 18 years of age, statutory health insurance companies generally cover a large portion of the costs if orthodontic treatment is medically necessary. For adults, subsidies may be available depending on the insurance provider – we would be happy to advise you transparently and individually on your options.
